The Cloud formed with a passion for the trees and the priceless ecological function they perform. In the summer of 2021, we were camping and working an acre of the land along the ridge, cleaning up garbage left behind by others, making it a place to express creatively, using efficient off-grid energy sources and building space for gathering community, having dinners and campfires, just enjoying our best lives, under a canopy of the trees!

Approximately six acres of land between us and the slough was clearcut about five years ago. Then, last August, the loggers returned to take all the remaining timber. Equipment rolled in quickly, and fellers began cutting down another significant number of trees. Walking through the land right after it had been deforested was devastating. It felt like the aftermath of a war zone. With no regard for life currently thriving there and motivated only by monetary gains, these trees were taken down to pave the way for intensive development. We knew we had to do something to prevent the destruction. Sam got in contact with the man running the operation and met with him, eventually agreeing to buy the land from him to save the trees and keep the environment healthy.

Our vision is to use the land that has already been logged for the environmentally responsible development of an intentional community and share space that allows others to stay there as they visit the mystical southern coast of Oregon. Through art, movement, community and education, we hope to inspire others to connect back to the life source and promote healthy ways of living. We sealed the deal on this land in May of 2022 and welcome you to be a part of the Dream.
